Try the Traditional Lenten Meal that Lured the Travel Channel to this Tremont Pub

Prosperity Social Club’s must-catch Lenten menu returns Fridays March 3rd through April 14 and rest assured there will be plenty of fish to fry. “The popularity of this seasonal staple grows every year so we’re opening early on Fridays at 11am and serving the fish fry right up until 2am to give diners more options,” says Prosperity’s Bonnie Flinner.

The home-cooked ‘Big Fish’ classic fry, which has repeatedly been voted one of Cleveland’s best and was featured on TV chef Andrew Zimmern’s Delicious Destinations in November, is a generous portion of flaky haddock enveloped in a pillowy blanket of beer batter complemented by crunchy homemade coleslaw, zesty house tartar sauce and rich, creamy old-school-style mac and cheese.

Diners who want a lighter midday meal can order a cup of made-from-scratch New England clam chowder, a pan-seared tilapia dressed in zippy chimichurri sauce, or the more modest two-piece slaw-and-chips ‘Minnow’ fry. And new this year Prosperity chef Ed Kubitz is adding a lemony shrimp piccata pasta to the list of Fish Fry-Day of offerings.

“But for those who want a truly indulgent ‘meat-free’ Friday meal, there’s always our go-big-or-go-home ‘Gotta Haddock’ special,” says Flinner. The hearty hand-battered fry has it all, including a scoop of mac and cheese, a side of slaw, a cup of chowder and two potato pierogi slathered in caramelized onions and topped with a dollop of sour cream.

Fish Fry-Days are first come, first served. Due to fish fry volume some, regular fried menu items are not available on Fridays. For more information, call 216.937.1938 or visit
