Like “Auld Lang Syne” suggests, December 31st can be more than a reason to make resolutions or a dance floor countdown. New Year’s is also an opportunity to share appreciation for the people who mean something to you.

Prosperity Social Club (1109 Starkweather Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44113 / 216.937.1938 / offers a cozy, firelit spot for friends and family to come together over “a cup of kindness”—be that a bit of brut or a spiked hot chocolate. “From our regular Saturday brunch to well after the ball drop, we’ll be open New Year’s Eve,” says Prosperity owner Bonnie Flinner. The Tremont pub will serve sparkling wine, prosecco and champagne by the bottle and glass. And Chef Ed Kubitz is adding buttery lump crab cakes ($12), smoky Hoppin’ John soup ($4) and a crab topped sirloin with au gratin potatoes, roasted asparagus and rich hollandaise sauce ($20) to the evening options for revelers who want to send off 2016 with a special dinner.

“But you can also get pan-fried pierogi, veggie empanadas, fried chicken and other comfort food favorites from our regular menu,” says Flinner. Without bank-breaking packages or prix fixe menus, Prosperity is an affordable option for those ‘pre-gaming’ a party, in-between events or looking for late-night bite. “Of course, we’ll watch the televised festivities at Times Square,” says Flinner. “There’ll be plenty of hugs and high-fives for those who join us for the stroke of midnight.”

On January 1st Prosperity once again open its doors for a “Hash After the Bash” Brunch (10:30am – 3:30pm). “Camaraderie, carbs, coffee and cocktails are definitely the way I want to start 2017,” notes Flinner.

Reservations for all events are recommended, but not required. Prosperity Social Club will be closed for dinner service on New Year’s Day.

Prosperity Social Club offers a full-service bar, great microbrews, a variety of affordable wines, performances by an array of talented musicians, a friendly staff and a smart, eclectic clientele. The kitchen stays open for late night dining with a sophisticated, tavern-style menu (that even accommodates vegetarians). It’s a true Cleveland experience.
