In April, Prosperity Social Club celebrates a time-honored American tradition—the affordable fine dining of a supper club.

Popularized in the 1930s and ‘40s, supper clubs of yesteryear offered Midwesterners social, culinary and cultural stimulation. Every Friday in April (810pm), the Cleveland pub travels back to the days of classic cocktails and hearty dinner fare served with flickering candlelight, crisp white tablecloths and lively lounge music. “Supper clubs were destination dining experiences,” says owner Bonnie Flinner. “It’s hard to believe their disappearing from the landscape given that good music, good food and good company are the perfect ingredients for any great Friday night out.”

Along with an array of signature cocktails and retro appetizers, Prosperity’s homemade supper club-inspired menu items will include lobster ravioli (served in a bourbon cream sauce with arugula and roasted tomatoes $15.95), saffron poached salmon (served with tomato cous cous and mirepoix vegetables $15.95), and choice sirloin encrusted with espresso and brown sugar (served with a generous bed of rich, brandy and peppercorn cream sauce, roasted asparagus and a side of caramelized onion mashed potatoes $18.95).

Reservations for the Supper Club series are strongly encouraged (seatings at 7:30, 7:45 and 8pm), but not required.
